Planned Parenthood, ACLU Sue Iowa and Ohio to Overturn Ban on Abortions During Coronavirus Crisis

March 30, 2020

Powerful pro-abortion groups filed lawsuits Monday against Iowa, Ohio and Alabama for including abortions in their bans on non-essential medical procedures during the coronavirus outbreak.

Women did not file the lawsuits, abortion advocacy groups did. They include Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties Union along with abortion facilities in each state, KCCI News 8 reports.

The lawsuits ask for a temporary restraining order so that abortion facilities can continue to abort unborn babies.

Within the past two weeks, Republican governors in all three states issued orders to temporarily ban non-essential medical procedures, including abortions. The purpose of the orders is to conserve medical resources and reduce the spread of the virus. However, some abortion facilities have refused to comply.

In a statement Monday, the ACLU of Iowa slammed pro-life Gov. Kim Reynolds for including life-destroying abortions in her order.

“While health care providers across Iowa are working tirelessly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and care for patients suffering from COVID-19, Gov. Reynolds is focused on advancing her political agenda and interfering in medical decisions that should be left to patients and their doctors,” the pro-abortion legal group said in a statement.

But the issue comes down to whether abortion – the intentional killing of an unborn child — is essential or a “choice,” as abortion activists often claim.

As The Hill reports: “The pause on nonessential procedures across the country is meant to conserve masks and gloves for healthcare workers on the front lines of the pandemic. Several governors have issued such orders but divisions have emerged between red and blue states over whether abortion is an essential procedure.”

Abortion activists now insist that killing an unborn baby is a necessary medical procedure, even though abortions do not save lives.

And in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, abortion facilities continue to operate, using scarce medical resources and risking their patients to greater exposure of the virus.

Yet, they claim pro-life leaders are using the pandemic to advance their political agenda.

“A global pandemic is not an excuse to attack essential, time-sensitive medical procedures like abortion,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, acting president of Planned Parenthood, in a statement. “Anti-abortion politicians have gone too far.”

According to the Huffington Post, Katherine Ragsdale, an Episcopal priest and president and CEO of the National Abortion Federation, even claimed the temporary bans are a “craven exploitation of a health care crisis.”

But it is telling that the lawsuits come from billion-dollar pro-abortion advocacy groups and not individual women. The abortion industry exploits women and their unborn babies by pushing abortions on them in a time of crisis. But mothers who cannot get elective abortions are not unhealthy as a result. They become mothers of newborn babies.

Recently, medical groups representing more than 30,000 doctors in America emphasized that abortions are not “essential” or “urgent,” and abortion facilities that continue to operate during the pandemic are being “medically irresponsible.” According to one study, approximately 93 percent of abortions are done for “social reasons,” and not because of rape, incest or risks to the mother’s health.

Common abortion complications include infections, blood clots, hemorrhaging and an incomplete abortion. Abortion risks include future preterm births, breast cancer, suicide, anxiety/depression, and death. And it is not true that abortions are safer than childbirth.

States are saving lives by temporarily banning elective abortions. They are protecting mothers from the spread of the coronavirus and protecting unborn babies from almost certain death.

Although the situation is fluid, here are the latest reports from LifeNews.com on the status of abortion and orders to stop non-essential medical services:

THE GOOD NEWS

SALVATION

Salvation is a FREE GIFT from God. SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE & FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT GOD SAYS.

  1. God declares all mankind sinners and we all fall short of Glory of God. Romans 3:23
  2. The payment for our sin is death. Romans 6:23
  3. But God…because he loved you so much sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place, for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead three days later. 1 Cor 15:1-42cor 5:21

All God asks is that you believe by faith alone in 1, 2, & 3. That you’re a sinner, separated from God but God sent his Son to die for your sins, was buried & rose again 3 days later.

‘that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ‘

Romans 10:9
